The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is finally getting the comprehensive update it desperately needs, with all manner of powertrain, interior and exterior upgrades. The standard powertrain carries over from the previous model year, featuring a 6.6-liter V8 gas-powered engine that produces 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque paired with a 10-speed Allison transmission instead of the Hydra-Matic six-speed. The new transmission increases the truck's weight to 26,000 pounds, improving max towing limits on most trims.
Drivers regularly towing trailers or hauling supplies and equipment will benefit from the Duramax 6.6-liter turbodiesel that generates 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque-an increase over the previous year's output. Adding the Max Trailering package, max towing limits increase to 22,500 pounds--4,000 pounds more than the last model year's 18,510 pounds.

You can also choose from the Regular, Double, and Crew Cab with a standard or long bed configuration based on your seating and cargo capacity needs.
Interior Amenities
The cab features a 40/20/40-split bend seat that can seat three compared to the Double and Crew cabs, which also have a 60/40 split-folding rear bench seat, increasing the seating capacity to six people. Lower trims come standard with cloth seats, and the top trims get leather upholstery with power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a sunroof.
Although it has a revised exterior and updated powertrain options, the Silverado 2500HD cab will get the most attention in 2024. Each model above the base Work Truck trim receives a modern tech update with a new horizontal, high-resolution infotainment touchscreen display that measures 13.4 inches, replacing the smaller screen in previous models. More design and amenity updates include:
